What to Pack for Lunch?

When it comes to being a parent and sending your child off to preschool for the very first time, you you’ll most likely feel anxious. Anxiety isn’t a bad thing all of the time, but there can be some ways to cope with it, like making sure your child has everything they need to have a hearty and healthy lunch! Knowing that your child is being cared for by our teachers in South Bend is important! But just as important as having helpful and caring teachers, is making sure your child is bringing food to school that they’ll be excited eat! So, what should you pack for your kid’s preschool lunch?

Keep it similar to their daily diet at home!

One of the easiest ways to make sure your child is eating food they love is by not changing it a whole lot during days they’re eating lunch at school. If you’re packing food that your kiddo has never seen before, it’s highly likely that they won’t want to eat it. Instead, pack a fun, familiar and yummy lunch that they’ll love to munch on!

Check for allergies!

It’s very common to have a school full of children that have allergies. So, make sure you’re well informed by asking our teachers and staff at the Growing Kids Learning Center for a list of foods we don’t allow. This way, every child can stay healthy and safe during lunch time.

Ask your child what they like!

It’s always a great idea to communicate with your kiddo on their favorite lunch time foods and morning snacks that they love to eat. Knowing what they love and what they could live without in their lunchbox is key!
